Studying Art & Design History will be the best decision you’ll ever make…

Hi,

I’m Bryony and I’m a first year Art & Design History student who can’t wait to tell you why studying this course at Hope will be the best decision you’ll ever make!

The Art & Design History programme at Hope differs from any university you will look at because it incorporates a great variety of content to study. Not only have I studied Art History in my first year, but also Design History and Contemporary Practices, widening my knowledge even more than I ever anticipated. My lecturers are so friendly, so supportive and so passionate about the course, which encourages me to love the subject even more.

Another feature that attracted me to study the course at Hope was the Creative Campus; it provides a vibrant and welcoming environment that I look forward to visiting for my lectures, seminars and tutorials. It has everything I need to progress in my studies, including a vast library, quiet places, computer rooms and a canteen for those in-between lecture snacks. Despite living at Hope Park Campus, it has never been an issue for me to get to the Creative Campus as the university provides a free and efficient shuttle bus service.

One of the biggest reasons that I chose Hope for Art & Design History was for their opportunities. Within two months of starting, I had applied and achieved a Student Ambassador role at Tate Liverpool, thanks to the university’s exclusive partnership with the prestigious organisation. Additionally, Hope doesn’t take Liverpool’s amazing museums and galleries for granted! Every couple of months as part of our studies, the course goes on field trips to further our learning. So far, we have visited the Lady Lever Art Gallery, the Victoria Gallery and Museum and the Walker Art Gallery. We even ventured to Berlin recently, which was an incredible trip abroad that I will never forget, all because of the Art & Design History course at Liverpool Hope University.

It is without a doubt that I recommend the Art & Design History course at Liverpool Hope University; I can assure you that it will be a decision you won’t regret!
